DMC Event Masters offers you new hotels

3rd of October, 2018

Planning to visit Belgium this year? Then it’s good to know that Belgium’s most exciting cities have a few new hotels, that will not only provide you with a good night’s sleep, but also with an experience. As a DMC who turns events into experiences, we are always on the hunt for new things.

An overview:

We start with the brand-new Radisson Blu hotel in Bruges. The hotel with 109 rooms and suites is ideally suited to the needs and preferences of the modern hotel business guests. Above all culture and culinary delight come together in this hotel which is situated close to the historic city center. It is said the breakfast alone is worth the trip!

Still staying in the west of the country, you can find 1889 The Post in the vibrant city of Ghent. For years, the future of the former post office, situated in the heart of the historic center, remained a uncertain. Now the ground floor is a shopping center and the two upper floors have been transformed into an impressive and luxurious hotel with 38 rooms and suites that takes you back in time. The building has a neo-Gothic style and the rooms are a combination of antique furniture and the most modern technology, always with the focus on comfort. Throughout the hotel, the history of the building is honored with room names like ‘The Envelope’, ‘The letter’ or ‘The Postcard’, also the name of the hotel itself, which refers to the year of construction.

More into the seaside? In the queen of Spa-towns, Ostend, a renovated hotel with 95 rooms opened in June of this year. Former Royal Astor Hotel, a very classical hotel in typical English style is now Hotel Upstairs , completely transformed into a modern hotel with a raw, urban look. A piece of New York by the sea, featuring natural materials such as wood, concrete, metal and touches of green. The rooms remain important, but downstairs they wanted to create a meeting point for the world travelers, city trippers, artists and creatives in what they call ‘a Hub’. The restaurant is open 7/7 from morning until midnight and you will be able to order breakfast like you do in a Starbucks.

From a piece of ‘urban’ to the urban city itself: Antwerp.

Franq Antwerp is a luxurious, gastronomic hotel with 42 rooms that combines all the facilities of a business hotel with the charm of a boutique hotel. Personal service and a friendly approach are key.  The hotel is housed in a beautiful neoclassical building and underwent a renovation with respect for the historical and architectural elements. Fun fact: it used to be a bank where ‘Belgian Francs’ were kept in the vaults, hence the name of the hotel. The safes are restored and turned into a surprising wine cellar.

Hampton by Hilton, the global hotel chain that is known for the typical ‘Hamptonality’ service, announced the opening of its newest Hampton by Hilton Antwerp Central Station. The hotel has a number of advantages. It’s a spacious hotel with 145 modern rooms in front of the Antwerp Central Station, the Congress Centre and the main shopping street “Meir”. Hampton by Hilton is known to provide a friendly, authentic, caring and thoughtful service. Feel the Hamptonality in Antwerp, a ‘blue pearl’ in the diamond quarter.

De Gulde Schoen Antwerp refers to the ‘golden shoe’ and could not have found more salient owners than Red Devil Moussa Dembélé, his mother Tilly and sister Assita. Throughout the years the building obtained some characteristic architectural elements, making it a hotel with a centuries-long history. A great deal of the attention went into the interior elements. Especially into the 9 suites which are all unique. The Gilded Bar is a new place to be for trendy Antwer, a charming place with a luxurious design. The Gilded restaurant is also worth a visit, it offers a modern seasonal kitchen with Mediterranean and Asian influences.

Radisson Blu hotel, situated in the heart of the city at the Astridplein isn’t new, but has had an extensive makeover. The rooms, meeting rooms and the ground floor including the restaurant were renewed. New is also the arrival of a Starbucks store. On the second floor, you will find the breakfast restaurant with a breathtaking view of the Astrid square and the Central station.
